The Summer School team are delighted to announce that student Ziqi Xia (known as Helen), from Mainland China has been awarded with the Leighton Award. Following a nomination process, Helen was chosen from amongst all students who attended our Summer School programme in 2023. As the winner of the award, she has been offered a full academic scholarship to return in the summer of 2024.

The Leighton Award is awarded to a student who represents the values of Concord College and immerses themselves fully into all aspects the programme. During her time with us Helen was also the recipient of a Certificate of Achievement from both her General Study English and her History and Cultures Discovery Workshop teachers. She was described by one teacher as being a “stand-out star”.

Helen will be returning as a Senior student to study Mathematics. Ms Julie Kaul, Summer School Director said she was “thrilled to present Helen with this well-deserved award and we are looking forward to welcoming her back to Concord College next summer, where we are sure that she will continue to be a great example.”
