Students will have a total of 27 hours of timetabled lessons per week from 0900 until 1700, except Wednesday when lessons finish at 1230 – students will visit the local town of Shrewsbury in the afternoon. The timetable includes a morning and afternoon break and one hour for lunch. The timetable is made up of:

  • 15 hours of classroom based English including  General English (reading, writing and listening), English Skills, Speaking, British Culture and Project work.
  • 6 hours of integrated learning through a varied choice of Activities.
  • 6 hours per week of Concord Plus.

All Junior (10-12) classes have a maximum class size of 10 students and all Senior (13-17) classes have a maximum class size of 14 students.

Students will be asked to complete an online test before arrival which will help with placing them in the correct level group. The link to this test will be issued 2 weeks prior to the course start date and will take 50 – 90 minutes to complete. They will also complete a shorter test at Concord on either 3 July or 24 July to confirm the results of the online testing.

To encourage learning and progression, students will be assessed on a weekly basis and receive feedback on their progress and details of areas in which they can develop their learning.
