Concord College Summer School is an international community set in the heart of the Shropshire countryside. The college offers a range of academic courses, as well as English Language and Science courses for students along with a range of recreational activities to students aged 11-16 years during the summer period. The excellent academic and recreational facilities provide international students with a fantastic British summer school experience.
ACADEMIC COURSE TEACHER
(ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY)
We are seeking to appoint suitably qualified and experienced Engineering and Technology teachers to join our 2025 Summer School. This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a passionate and driven academic team in a diverse and fast paced environment. The role involves planning and delivering high quality, interactive lessons to students with a wide range of abilities. As a member of the STEM Department, you will need an energetic and enthusiastic approach to deliver engaging and motivational teaching. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential as is an adaptable approach to team working and teaching and ability to work flexibly even when under pressure. In addition to delivering a high standard academic programme, applicants are expected to contribute to the Summer School’s Social Programme and organised activities and events. As this role will include evening and weekend work on a rota basis, a residential option is available.
Applicants must have a degree in their chosen subject (Engineering & Technology) and preferably have a PGCE in that discipline along with at least one year’s teaching experience.
Proficiency in both spoken and written English and previous experience of living or working in the UK is essential.

EFL TEACHER

As an EFL Teacher you will need an energetic and enthusiastic approach to deliver engaging and motivational teaching. In addition to delivering a high standard academic programme, applicants are expected to contribute to the Summer School’s Social Programme and organised activities and events. As this role will include evening and weekend work on a rota basis, a residential option is available.
Applicants must have a degree plus an accredited EFL qualification such as Cambridge CELTA or Trinity CertTESOL. At least one year’s EFL teaching experience with young learners is desirable. A PGCE in English/Modern Foreign Languages or Primary QTS may also be considered acceptable.

This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a passionate and driven team in a diverse and fast paced environment. The role involves planning and delivering effective sports coaching on the Summer School Enrichment Activity Programme and during leisure time. As a Sports Teacher, you will need an energetic and enthusiastic approach to deliver engaging and motivational sports coaching. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential as is an adaptable approach to team working and teaching and ability to work flexibly even when under pressure. In addition to delivering a high standard Enrichment Activity Programme, applicants are expected to contribute to the Summer School’s Social Programme. As this role will include evening and weekend work on a rota basis, a residential option is available.
Applicants must have a degree or equivalent qualification and experience in a relevant discipline, along with additional coaching awards and preferably have a PGCE in that discipline, along with at least one year’s teaching experience.

OPERATIONS & ACTIVITIES MANAGER
We are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced Operations & Activities Manager to join our 2025 Summer School. This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a passionate and driven team in a diverse and fast paced environment. The Operations & Activities Manager will have responsibility for the arrangement, coordination, and management of the day-to-day programme of activities and events. The successful applicant will possess generosity of spirit and a willingness to go the extra mile for our students. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential as is the ability to build relationships with our staff and students and work flexibly, even when under pressure. The Operations & Activities Manager is required to be resident on campus during the Summer School and will work evenings and weekends on a rota basis.
Applicants must have experience of working in a boarding environment or in a school operational role. The successful candidate must have previous experience of operational or event management and people management or supervision. Teaching experience is desirable, although not essential.

SUMMER SCHOOL ASSISTANT
We are seeking to appoint a team of Summer School Assistants to join our 2025 Summer School. This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a passionate and driven team in a diverse and fast paced environment. The role involves supporting the Operations & Activities and Pastoral teams to ensure the smooth running of the courses and delivery of the best possible pastoral care. As a Summer School Assistant, you will need a professional yet caring approach, to be empathetic and enjoy working with children. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential as is an adaptable approach to team working and the ability to work flexibly even when under pressure. As the role also includes undertaking boarding parenting duties, Summer School Assistants are required to be resident on campus during the Summer School, accommodation will be allocated within a boarding residence. Hours of work will be organised on a rota basis and will include evenings and weekends.
Applicants must have, as a minimum, a level 3 qualification and be working towards a degree, preferably in a subject relevant to the post although this is not essential. Experience of working with young people is preferred. A qualification in either health & social care, working with young people, sport, performing arts or art is desirable.
