English Language

The English Language course consists of up to four project blocks. Each block will contain General English classes and Project classes:

– English Classes: These classes provide essential language practice, equipping students with the skills needed to complete a specified project.

– Project Classes: Applying what has been learnt in the English classes to real world themes. Topics may include business, the environment, technology, music and culture, sports and entertainment, fashion and shopping.

COMBINED WITH: 

Option 1: Global Leaders

This option is ideal for students who are looking to become future leaders or would like to acquire useful skills to prepare them in their further study or in their future workplace. Students will learn the skills and the foundation of what makes a great leader.

OR

Option 2: Business Ventures

This option is designed for aspiring entrepreneurs who are keen to understand the world of business and explore the skills and what it takes to start-up a successful business. Using their new skills and tools students will develop their own small enterprise and create a business pitch for potential investors.

This is an interactive course that encourages students to work independently and in groups, apply their creativity whilst developing speaking and communication skills.

Students must be ages 13 – 16 years when the course commences.

A minimum English language level of B1 would be expected to join the Humanities Summer School.

English Language Classes: 15 – 17 hours

Global Leaders or Business Ventures: 15 – 17 hours

Enrichment Activity: 7.5 hours

Maximum Class Size: 15 for students aged 13-16 years

Please note that there are limited places available on the Humanities course options. Applicants will be allocated their second Humanities subject choice if their preferred course option is unavailable. All course allocations are subject to availability at time of application.
