Students have access to our wonderful sports facilities such as the newly build sports hall, the aerobics and weight training room as well as an indoor swimming pool all of which they can use independently under the supervision of qualified staff. For those who prefer team sports with a little more guidance, our sports teachers run a sport of the day every evening (between 7-9pm). These are designed to be fun, all-ability activities such badminton, volleyball, dodgeball, ultimate frisbee and football.
We have a purpose-built art facility which has vibrant art studios, open plan space and a dedicated art library. At the weekend, our art teachers provide opportunities for all students to get creative!
The Morris Building, our performing arts centre has a large theatre/auditorium used for assemblies, talent shows, award ceremonies, live weekend performances and evening film screenings. Students also benefit from supervised access to music practice rooms, an orchestra room and a music technology suite.
The West End is a student social area which includes a snack shop, table football, large screen television and disco facilities.
Students aged 11-12, are supervised for all excursions by members of staff.
Students aged 13-17, are unsupervised for all excursions (unless notified otherwise on relevant supervision form or via parental portal), but must check in at a meeting point at designated times throughout the trip and must remain in a minimum student group size of 4.
The Summer School Director will make the final decision regarding supervision.
Parents will be required to complete their consents for supervision via the parental portal – details of access to this will be issued during the enrollment process.
All students will:
– be supervised on the coach journey to the venue
– have contact details of the trip leader and accompanying staff
– have a map of the place being visited
– be shown where the meeting point is where a member of staff will be located throughout the duration of the trip
– be provided with the relevant emergency contact details
